Being the center of human existence is hard for a town, so Pieksämäki keeps a low profile. It never admits that its the bastion of humankind or that the world would be one million times worse off without or that all the planet's waters flow from the gray office looking Pieksämäki water storage tower and provide life to billions. It never brags about the fact (lets put on our serious face for a second) that it boasts the world's only Elvis Presley tribute public toilet.
No...It never talks about that or the fact that they have named their largest shopping center 'Tahiti'. But the town is so warm and full of life that such a name isn't really needed.
Ah Pieksämäki...you bring the world so many joys it's almost mind-boggling.
